Football Academy “Little Eagles”


What is the Football Academy?

The Vista Junior Eagle Football Academy is designed specifically for our community’s youngest athletes (ages 5-6) that are interested in the game of football.  The Academy program has been developed to include both physical skills development AND cognitive learning.  For the young athlete, the Academy is all about football FUN in a non-contact, age-appropriate, learning-rich environment. 

Whether your youngster already loves football, or if they would simply like to try the game for the first time, the Vista Junior Eagle Football Academy is the place to start!

Who is it for?

The Football Academy is open to 5 & 6-year-old athletes (preschool / transitional kindergarten / kindergarten / 1st grade).  


What will my athlete learn?

The Football Academy in a non-contact introduction to the game of football.  Academy athletes will receive both physical education (skills development and position learning) as well as game specific learning opportunities (game terminology, field layout, game rules, X’s and O’s) all in an age-appropriate environment.

When are the sessions?

There are 8 total sessions, once per week, all on Friday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Sessions will run from Friday, September 8th through Friday, October 27th.  This schedule was designed specifically to avoid conflicts with your athlete’s soccer schedule.

Where will sessions be held?

Football Academy sessions will be held at Sutter Middle School in Folsom.

How do I register my athlete for the Football Academy?

What if I my 6-year-old athlete is ready for youth tackle football?

6-year-old athletes that are physically and cognitively prepared to play tackle football may elect to tryout for the VJE Junior PeeWee (8U) football team, where they will be evaluated by the 8U coaches.  The Junior PeeWee team begins practice in July.  For more information please visit:   www.fvjreagles.com, navigate to the “Team” page, “Choose a Team”, and select “Football Jr PeeWee”.

2016-17 Comp Cheer Squad

Congratulations to our 2016-17 Comp Cheer Squad!!!

They placed 1st at the Cow Palace Jamz Competition over the weekend. They also qualified to compete at Nationals in Vegas, January 20th!!!

Way to go!!!!

Florida Shrine Bowl Results

Congratulations to our U14 Florida Shrine Players!!!

Aydan Edwards, Carter King, Zach Corbitt, Ethan Menezes and Erik Johnson

What a great experience for these Vista Jr Eagles players! They all played awesome and came home victorious with wins against Florida 48-6 and Sweden 64-14! Zach Corbitt was also named MVP of the Florida game! Way to go boys!!!
